Ochsner Eye is dedicated solely to the medical and surgical management of the various forms of primary and secondary glaucoma and cataracts. We bring to the community a unique skill set and focus since Dr. Ochsner is the area’s only experienced cataract surgeon who is fellowship trained in glaucoma. We take great pride in providing compassionate and ethical medical care and will formulate an individualized treatment strategy that can often times be implemented by your primary eye care provider (Ophthalmologist or Optometrist) locally. In the event surgical or laser treatment is needed, Dr. Ochsner is skilled in glaucoma laser surgery techniques and incisional surgery including trabeculectomy with Express Shunts (glaucoma filtering surgery), glaucoma tube implants, the revision of glaucoma filtering procedures, minimally invasive glaucoma procedures (MIGS) including iStent and Trabectome, and combined cataract and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Ochsner offers the newest surgical techniques in the surgical management of cataracts such as laser-assisted (Lensx) cataract surgery, implantation of astigmatism correcting and of various ‘life-style optimizing’ intraocular lenses. Once stable after surgery, your care can continue with your primary eye care provider.
